NOTICE: We understand that in-office specimen collection and testing provides convenience for our patients and fewer potential lapses in data and diagnosis. We have invested in Rapid in-office Molecular and Antigen COVID-19 test equipment, but there are hurdles like inadequate lab supplies, delayed or non coverage by insurance and reporting requirements. Due to some reimbursement changes and limitation, SuperKids Pediatrics will continue offering testing when possible and billing your insurance on file. Any patient responsibility as determine by your policy will be bill to patients and it will become due after your billing notification.

Florida COVID-19 Testing Sites

Palm Beach County

SuperKids Pediatrics continue assisting our established patients with COVID-19 testing via nasopharyngeal swab. The test is performed at our Palm Beach Gardens location and requires a prescription from a SuperKids Pediatrics provider, which can only be written after an in person or telehealth evaluation.

It is important to understand that your insurance policy, the testing center authorized by your policy, and/or testing lab materials available can dictate and affect the availability and cost for you. Some insurance are covering Antigen Testing as long as a valid reason to test is present (exposure as per CDC conditions and/or CDC establish symptoms). A payment may be require before the test is administered. For your child’s safety, SuperKids Pediatrics team will only test after an evaluation, ensuring the appropriateness for testing, and to ensure that additional medical management is not immediately required.

For better outcome and expedite service, we continue to encourage patients to call our office to coordinate a telehealth visit. After a telehealth appointment in which a test is ordered, you can expect additional information and instructions. Please consider the following:

Testing is by appointment only during specific times to ensure proper procedures are taken. Do not show up for testing without a prior telehealth appointment. You will be turned away.
We are currently performing nasal-swab in the parking lot at specific parking spaces and require patients and family to remain in their vehicle. Some exceptions are considered for in-office nasal-swab for patients with specific behavioral conditions and requirements or physical disabilities.
Once in the parking lot at your appointment time, please call the office phone number to alert the staff. Make sure your vehicle is in “parking” with “brakes” on and the a/c is turned off. In most cases, the procedure only takes 2 to 5 minutes.
Make sure your child is sitting or the child’s car seat is by the door/window. The child must be restrained, and you may need to assist by holding your child still as our staff swabs your child’s nasopharynx.
We cannot provide any other services besides the nasal-swab at that time. If you have other concerns about your child, please call to schedule a consultation.
Subsequently, we will either run a in-house rapid (Antigen or Molecular) test or coordinate the transportation of the specimens to the lab authorized by your insurance. Once result is available and your physician evaluates it, we will contact you. This may be in the form of a telephone call or a follow up telehealth appointment.
